SCI to join 'Sustainability Campus' in 2012
29 November 2011Following his return from Brazil and after discussions with the Rio+20 Organisers, Professor Mohan Munasinghe, SCI Professor of Sustainable Development has invited the SCI to participate in a side event to the Earth Summit with Brazilian universities called the 'Sustainability Campus'. It is expected that the event will reach many thousands, especially young people, who will be in Rio for the summit. The SCI, MIND and other major organisations, will run 1-2 hour symposia to share research and policy findings through lectures and panel sessions across the Campus.
Professor Munasinghe, Chairman of MIND, developed the Millennium Consumption Goals (MCGs) and has submitted them for the Rio+20 agenda.
