The SCI's core academic staff is presently 19 researchers with a further 23 part-time associated staff or research assistants linked to specific SCI research projects. We have 23 postgraduate students engaged in projects linked to SCI research themes. The work of the institute is led by Dr David North, SCI Executive Director, and is supported by a Head of Institute Administration, SCI Director of Centre for Doctoral Training and a further 5 professional support staff.

Since the launch of the SCI in 2007, we have built up a network of individuals and organisations that continues to work with us, enabling our researchers to share expertise, ideas and to pursue joint projects with them.
