Ada Wossink - Theme Lead - Sustainable Consumer Behaviours and Lifestyles

Ada Wossink is Theme Lead of Sustainable Consumer Behaviours and Lifestyles, SCI Professorial Research Fellow and lead of the Environmental Economics research area group at the University of Manchester. Previous appointments include professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University in the USA and positions at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. She also worked as a researcher at Statistics Netherlands.
She is the recipient of a 1994/95 J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship and an External Fellow of the Wageningen School of Social Sciences at Wageningen University. She has also held a visiting research position at the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim in Germany. In recognition of the quality of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer activities she was awarded the 2004 North Carolina Extension Education Team Award on Outstanding Subject Matter.
Professor Wossink's theoretical and empirical work addresses the integration of insights provided by production/environmental ecology and production and behavioural economics and she has published extensively in this area. She has been actively involved in over 25 externally funded multidisciplinary research assignments in past and in current positions in Europe and the US and has coordinated several of such projects.
With colleagues in Philosophy and Psychology she is currently participating in the FP7 project BIOMOT: MOTivational strength of ecosytem services and alternative ways to express the value of BIOdiversity.
