FACULTY OF HUMANITIES
SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION INSTITUTE

The Sustainable Consumption Institute aims to be the world's leading interdisciplinary research institute on environmental sustainability. Accordingly, we are seeking to make professorial appointments (at least 3fte) which both strengthen our research capacity in areas linked to our current research themes: sustainable consumer behaviours and lifestyles; eco-innovation for sustainable production and distribution; climate change and carbon (mitigation, adaptation and vulnerability); and develop our capacity in two new related areas: sustainable cities; and ecosystem services (renewable energy, water, and sustainable agriculture).

You should have a track record of outstanding publications and demonstrated success in obtaining research funding. You should be willing to work across discipline boundaries, and have experience of disseminating research to key stakeholders (consumers, businesses, governments, charities and NGOs). The ability to deliver inspiring teaching and supervise PhD students is also necessary. You should provide evidence of how you can contribute to the academic leadership of the SCI.

Informal enquiries can be made to Professor Alistair Ulph at the Sustainable Consumption Institute (SCI) via email at alistair.ulph@manchester.ac.uk or by telephone +44 (0)161 275 4030.

The University of Manchester values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
