Research environment

Our excellent international reputation, proven track record of cutting-edge research, and vibrant and intellectual research environment makes us an ideal destination for doctoral students.

We offer a diverse range of lectures, seminars, workshops and masterclasses presented by staff and visiting speakers, and all of our members are encouraged to participate in our ongoing research and training activities, and collaborations with researchers working on related projects. 

All of this is achieved with the support of a team of highly-skilled academic and administrative staff.

Early career researcher support

Alongside relevant research training specific to your home discipline, you will benefit from our broad-ranging early career researcher model for doctoral students and visiting researchers.

We offer foundational skills training sessions in areas including:

  • article, blog and grant proposal writing
  • CV development
  • media engagement
  • publication strategies

These sessions are available to all our members and are in addition to School and discipline-based training.
