Research title
Platform leaders, platform-based innovations and whole-system reconfigurations in socio-technical transitions: evidence from the rapid urban platformisation in China
Research interests
Mingwei is interested to understand the phenomenon of digital platforms and urban platformisation in the context of sustainability transitions. In his MSc dissertation, Mingwei explored how various digital platform owners built large bike-sharing systems rapidly in Chinese cities. In his PhD research, Mingwei intends to explain how this kind of platformisation takes place and unfolds over time from a socio-technical system perspective.
Prior to commencing his PhD studies, Mingwei completed an MSc in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship and a BSc (Hons) in Fashion Marketing, both at the University of Manchester.
