Exploring transition pathways to sustainable, low-carbon societies
This unique European Union (EU) Framework Programme 7 (FP7) project explores the possibilities for transitions to a low-carbon, sustainable Europe.
It combines the analysis of three different scientific disciplines:
- initiative-based learning
- integrated assessment modelling
- socio-technical transition analysis.
Our aims
By combining and coordinating information from these different disciplines for selected cases, the project aims to provide better policy advice for European, member state and local policy‐makers.
As well as contributing to the overall aims of the project, our team led the work-package on sociotechnical analysis using the multi-level perspective to analyse and compare transition pathways in major societal domains - mobility, electricity, heat, agrifood - across several European nations.
